Activities

Staying in the yurt, cabin or hut is an adventure in itself but there is plenty to explore, on the Farm and further afield!  There's a family sized hammock, 5 acres of meadow and woodland, barbecues and of course, each unit has it's own wonderful wooden hot tub.

If you've never visited the Fowey Valley before you are in for a treat; on the doorstep there are walks in almost every direction.  Within 5 minutes you can be at the lovely River Fowey; skimming stones, watching a lazy heron fishing or if you are lucky, seeing a ship navigate its way up the channel.  If you're tempted to get on the water there are plenty of boats, kayaks and stand up paddle boards for hire.

Penmarlam Quay is 10 minutes walk from Lombard with mooring access and a great cafe open during holiday seasons

A 15 minute walk on a footpath and a short ferry ride will take you to Fowey with it's great restaurants and delightful shops, or keep walking on to the South West Coastal Path or the town beach of Readymoney.

For the more adventurous, a 40 minute walk (or 15 minute drive) will take you to Lantic Bay, with breathtaking views along the coast and some fine beaches for swimming, crabbing or just lazing by a rock.  These beaches are never crowded!  You may find that you never need to use the car!

If you're a thrill seeker Adrenalin Quarry is 25 minutes by car and is the UK’s Maddest zip wire. 490m long, 50m high and reaching speeds of 40mph. A bit more down to earth, with excitement and skills of a different kind, try your hand at Segway near Bodmin

If you want to explore the rest of Cornwall there is plenty to see and do. If you don't want to take the car the train stations at Lostwithiel and Liskeard are 20 minutes away by taxi.

From the spectacular cliffs of the north with great surfing beaches such as Polzeath, to the artists' haven of St Ives with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum, or even the restaurants of Padstow or Watergate Bay, there really is something for everyone.  Throw in the breathtaking Minack Theatre or the Sterts Arts Centre Open Air Theatre on the edge of Bodmin Moor and of course The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and there's plenty to keep everyone busy

If the sheer choice of activities is too much for you, you can opt for a more gentle adventure closer to home and stay at Lombard for a relaxing soak in your own private hot tub

Whether getting wet and muddy on an adventure, soaking up some culture or the breathtaking Cornish countryside, or sunbathing in the hammock, you will be coming to the right place!
